Please note that this functionality is only available with the reev Platform Pro license. With the reev Compact license, there are no user groups, and users are invited directly to charge.

What is a User Group?

With user groups, you can support specific use cases and group users who are allowed to charge under the same conditions.

After creating a user group, you can invite users to join it. Invited users are then authorized to charge according to the conditions defined for the user group.

User groups can be prioritized and will be considered with higher priority during load management. This requires the free reev Energy Management System (EMS) to be activated in your reev platform. For more information on user group prioritization, see:

You can use the search bar to quickly find a specific user group.

How do I create an user group?

To create a new user group, click Create a new user group at the top of the screen within the User Groups menu item.

User Types

We differentiate between recurring users and short-term users.

Recurring users are drivers who charge regularly at your charging infrastructure. For these users, it makes sense to create a one-time user profile in the system in order to streamline and automate processes (e.g. pool vehicles, company cars, employees).

Short-term users are drivers who charge only occasionally or on a one-time basis at your charging infrastructure. Creating a user profile for them is not required. Nevertheless, you can still offer a simple and convenient charging experience (e.g. guests, customers).

For both user types, charging sessions can either be automatically billed via the reev platform or recorded only. Recorded charging sessions can be exported at any time and further processed internally if required.

Use Cases

Below you will find an overview of the use cases that can be supported by creating user groups.

Note:

  • Usergroups can also be created and managed across multiple reev accounts. Find more information on multi-account management here.

  • Apart from the eRoaming user group, you can create as many user groups per type as you wish.
