This article provides you with a step-by-step guide on how to integrate additional charging stations into your existing reev platform.
If you do not yet have access to the reev platform, please follow the steps in the article on how to create a new reev platform.
Step 1: Check Requirements
To integrate the Controller charging station(s) into your reev platform, they must be configured to communicate with the reev backend.
For reev ready and reev pre-configured charging stations, the configuration is already preset at the factory.
For all other reev-compatible charging stations, a reev Connect Set must be purchased through one of our sales partners.
Typically, your certified electrician will take care of these steps for you!
Also, make sure you have one license key per charging point available to activate the license. Usually, your electrician will have purchased these for you.
More information about reev license keys
You have purchased a reev ready/reev pre-configured charging station or a backend-capable charging station + reev-Connect set with the appropriate license keys (reev Compact or reev Pro) through your electrical wholesaler.
Step 2: Adding a New Controller Charging Station to Your reev Platform
In Monitoring, sub-menu Charging Infrastructure, click on Add New Charging Group at the top of the screen.
Select location: Choose the location to which the charging station will be assigned. You can either select a new or an existing location. Locations help you better organize and distinguish charging stations across different sites.
Enter serial number or activation code: Now enter the serial number or activation code of the Controller charging station. The activation code is usually included with the materials provided by your electrician. If your electrician has sent you an installation report, you can find this information there as well. Alternatively, you can locate the serial number yourself.
Assign license keys and EVSE-IDs: Assign a license key to each charging point to be able to use the newly activated charging points fully.
If the electrician used our Installation App to integrate the charging stations, the EVSE-ID fields should already be filled in.
You can find more information about EVSE-IDs.
If you do not have the license key at the time of adding the charging points at hand, you will have 14 days to assign the license keys later.
If the 14 days pass without assigning the keys, all affected charging groups will be set to "Free Charging" mode and will no longer be configurable.
You can assign a license key to a connector later at any time by clicking on the respective connector in Monitoring, sub-menu Charging Infrastructure, and entering the license key in the sidebar that opens.
What is an EVSE-ID?
EVSE-IDs (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Identifications) serve as the unique identifier for individual connectors and are required for both public charging and charging via the reev App.
An EVSE-ID consists of a five-character alphanumeric code in the format DEONEEXXXX and can be found on the QR code stickers attached to each connector of the charging station.
You can check the currently assigned EVSE-ID of a connector at any time on your reev platform by clicking on the respective connector.
In the sidebar that opens, you can view and edit the EVSE-ID.If you manually assign EVSE-IDs, ensure that you enter the IDs in the order that matches the physical arrangement of the charging points.
Proceed as follows: start from left to right and top to bottom:
Controller left charging point - EXXXX | Controller right charging point - EXXXX |
Extender 1 left charging point - EXXXX | Extender 1 right charging point - EXXXX |
Extender 2 left charging point - EXXXX | ... |
Example:
Controller with one charging point on the left, Extender 1 with two charging points, and Extender 2 with one charging point on the left.
Enter them in the following order:
Charging point 1: Controller left charging point EXXXX
Charging point 2: Extender 1 left charging point EXXXX
Charging point 3: Extender 1 right charging point EXXXX
Charging point 4: Extender 2 left charging point EXXXX
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Where can I find my license keys?
You usually receive your license keys from your installer.
2. Where can I purchase a reev-Connect set or additional licence keys?
License keys and reev Connect Sets can be purchased through our sales partners.
3. Which license key do I need: Compact or Pro?
This depends on the requirements your company has for using the reev software.
An overview of the functionality of our licenses can be found on our website.
Please note: All charging points within one platform must use the same license key, as each reev platform is always assigned to a unified license plan.
A combination of different license types within one platform is therefore not possible.
4. I purchased a reev Compact license key but want to use reev Pro. What can I do?
You can upgrade here.
5. Can I add license keys/EVSE IDs at a later time?
Yes, you can do this by clicking on the charging point in your dashboard's main overview and entering the appropriate license key or EVSE ID in the side menu that opens.
Please note that the license keys must be added within two weeks of adding the charging points to the dashboard, otherwise the entire charging group will be set to free charging, and access control will remain inactive until all license keys are entered.
