Welcome to the reev Platform, your tool for intelligent energy and charging management! We are delighted that you are joining us in shaping the future of e- mobility.
We recommend that you follow the steps below as a priority, as they will unlock additional features for you, allowing you to make full use of the reev Platform.
Step 1: Set up your reev Platform
If you do not have set up your reev Platform yet, you can find instructions here: Create your reev platform & grant access
Once you have set up your account, you are ready to add your charging infrastructure to your Platform.
Step 2: Add charge points to your reev Platform
To add charge points to your Platform goo to the Monitoring menu, then Charging Infrastructure, and click on "Add new charging group", then follow the instructions.
Have your reev license keys ready to activate the features of your reev platform.
You can finde more information here:
Once your charging infrastructure has been successfully added, each charging group will appear as a separate tile in the overview. A charging group can consist of either a single controller charging station or a combination of one controller and multiple connected extender stations.
Each charging group can be configured individually in the reev Platform.
Within each charging group, the current status of every charging connector is displayed using color codes. The legend on the right-hand side explains the meaning of each color. You can also use this legend to filter and display only connectors with a specific status.
For more information on how to monitor your charging stations, see: Monitor charging infrastructure
Step 3: Activate access control and assign charging permissions
By default, your charging stations are delivered with factory settings. Access control is disabled, meaning that charging is possible without authorization.
Access control can be configured individually for each charging group. When access control is enabled, only registered users or charging cards can start a charging session after successful authorization.
You can define charging permissions for individual users and charging cards via the Users menu.
For detailed instructions, see: Invite users to charge
To manage different charging conditions, you can create User Groups under the User Groups menu. This allows you to define which groups of users are allowed to charge under specific tariffs — for example you can differ between internal fleet vehicles, employees with private cars, or public charging.
For more details and explanations on user groups, see: User Groups overview
Step 4: Activate reev Energy Managemen System
The reev Energy Management System (EMS) is included for free with your reev platform license. Our EMS ensures optimal distribution of the available electrical power without exceeding the maximum grid capacity. It is available as both static and dynamic load management and supports both AC and DC charging stations.
If your installer activated the EMS using the reev installation app, static load management is already active. Otherwise, you can activate it manually anytime via the Energy Management menu.
For more informationen, see: reev EMS | General information & FAQs
Do not activate the reev EMS if another energy management system is already in use at your site.
Step 5: Enable automatic billing of charging sessions
To bill charging sessions you must complete a one-time verification with our payment service provider, who handles financial transactions from the users’ payment methods to your specified bank account.
To begin, go to Administration > Billing Settings > Employee/Tenant/Guest Charging.
All four tiles, initially marked with a red cross, must be completed. Once that is done successfully, you’ll have full access to all functionalities related to automatic billing of charging sessions.
You can find more details in the following article: Set up billing account
Step 6: Set up automated reports
With Automated Reports (reev Business/ Enterprise only feature), you’ll receive your charging and financial reports automatically by email – no manual effort required.
The reports include filtered data by users, cost centers, locations, and more - available as Excel or PDF files.
To enable automated reports:
Open the reev Platform and navigate to Monitoring > Automated reports.
Create a new report by clicking on "Create new scheduled report" and follow the steps within the Platform.
Once configured, the recipients will automatically receive the reports at the selected time.
You can find more details in the following article: Report charging sessions
Step 7: Administrative Settings
System Users:
You can grant free access to your reev platform to as many additional system users as needed. Invite them via Administration > System Users by clicking on Invite System User and assigning the appropriate role.
You can find more detailed information about the different roles here: System User Roles in the reev Platform
reev Subscription:
Information regarding your reev license and upcoming license renewal can be found under Administration > reev Subscription. Under Administration > Payment Settings > Renewal & Company Car at Home, you need to enter a payment method before your first renewal to ensure smooth billing of reev license fees.
Further information can be found here: reev Subscription
Step 8: reev GHG Quotas
The GHG (Greenhouse Gas) quotas are a German government initiative designed to reduce CO₂ emissions in the transport sector. With reev, you can benefit from your CO₂ savings and generate additional annual revenue of up to four figures (Germany only). You can profit both from the electric vehicles in your fleet and from offering public charging.
