Welcome to reev! We're excited to have you with us as we shape the future of electric mobility.
This article will guide you through the basics of the reev EMS – reev’s intelligent, cloud-based energy management system.
reev Energy Management: Overview
The Overview section provides a historical analysis of your electrical infrastructure. It helps you assess energy consumption and performance over time, ensuring optimal utilization of your available capacity.
Using the load curve, you can gain insights into the load of your fleet and building compared to the predefined limit of your main distribution board. Numerous filtering options allow you to examine specific days and time periods in greater detail.
Define Key Metrics
To gain valuable insights into the performance of your charging infrastructure, you can select and pin key metrics to the Overview dashboard using drag and drop.
These metrics provide visibility into average station utilization, peak and average load, as well as indicators showing how the reev EMS responds to specific conditions – such as phase imbalance or hitting infrastructure limits.
Average utilization: The average utilization of your electrical infrastructure over a selected period. This reflects the time during which charging points are occupied and unavailable for new charging sessions.
Maximum load: The highest recorded power demand during the selected time frame.
Average load: The average load drawn by the infrastructure during the selected period.
Phase imbalance avoided: Instances where the reev EMS actively corrected a phase imbalance to maintain system stability.
Limit reached: Situations where the reev EMS had to reduce EV power consumption to stay within the predefined infrastructure limit.
Prioritizing Charging Points & Users
At the bottom of the Overview section, you'll find a summary of prioritized charging points, users, and user groups.
This highlights your VIP assets and users and shows whether an active charging session is currently in progress.
To learn how to prioritize charging points, refer to the Live Monitoring section.

reev Energy Management: Live Monitoring
The Live Monitoring section allows you to actively track the status of your infrastructure in real time.
You’ll get an instant overview of all active components, load distribution, and live updates every 5 seconds. This ensures continuous monitoring of charging performance and helps you maintain electrical stability at your site or building.
Live Load Curve
The Live Load Curve updates every 5 seconds and displays real-time EV and building power consumption. You can toggle between kilowatts (kW) and amperes (A) to monitor consumption per phase.
A summary of each charging point’s status along with key live KPIs – including average load, phase imbalance, and total daily charging volume – provides critical information about your site's current usage.
Topology Table & Prioritizing Charging Points
With the Topology Table, you can instantly check the status of all charging connectors and fuses.
The entire electrical infrastructure is represented in a hierarchical tree structure, including main and sub-distribution boards and assigned charging groups. Each unit shows its maximum limit and current consumption. Additional key data like charging power, plug-in time, and total charging volume offer deeper insight into users’ active sessions.
For dynamic load management setups, the local energy meter status and measurements are also displayed.
Prioritize Charging Points for Faster Charging
Click the icon next to the charging connector to assign priority.
This ensures that prioritized connectors receive maximum power in the event of network limitations.
Zoom in on Individual Unit Consumption
By clicking the icon on the right of any charging connector, you can filter the Live Load Curve to display only the selected unit’s consumption.
This is especially useful for analyzing the performance during specific charging sessions.
