License Period and Renewal

In your reev platform, navigate to Administration, sub-menu reev Subscription to view your current license and the next billing cycle. If your platform includes multiple license periods, these are aligned and adjusted proportionally during each billing cycle.
More information on handling multiple license periods

Your license will automatically renew for 12 months at a time, with a cancellation period of three months prior to the end of the contract.

Further details can be found in our contract terms and conditions.

Billing of your reev License

To enable automated billing of your license fees, enter your payment details in Administration, sub-menu Payment Settings, tab Renewal & Company car at home.

This includes:

  • Billing address

    • Invoice email address

    • Company name and address

  • Payment method

    • SEPA mandate or

    • credit card

Under Administration, sub-menu reev Subscription, you'll find the date of your next scheduled payment. On this date, the license fee will be automatically deducted from your selected payment method. All license-related invoices can be found under the Payment History tab.

E-Invoice

The E-invoice is a fully electronic version of the traditional paper invoice – from creation to processing. Unlike simple PDF invoices, it covers the entire digital process.

Starting January 1, 2025, the E-invoice will become mandatory in Germany for all domestic B2B transactions in accordance with § 14 UStG. Companies must then be able to send and receive electronic invoices. A transition period until 2027 allows continued use of paper invoices and non-standardized formats.
For more information, please refer to the FAQ page of the Federal Ministry of Finance.

  • On your reev platform, you can activate E-invoice reception and will then receive electronic invoices for the annual software fees via the Peppol network.

Note: To receive E-invoices, you need a valid Peppol ID. reev cannot create a Peppol ID for you!
You will receive this identification number from the provider you choose to participate in the E-invoice process.

  • To do this, go to Administration > Billing Settings, then open the tab Renewal & Company Car at Home and enter your Peppol Identification Number in the section Electronic Invoices.

Multiple License Periods Within One reev Platform

When purchasing a license, the fees typically cover 24 months from the onboarding of the charging points. If you purchase additional licenses during this period, they will also be paid for 24 months. Therefore, you may have multiple license periods within a single reev Platform. With each renewal, all licenses expiring within the next 12 months will be extended to the same end date (prorated).

Example:

  • On 07.12.2019, charging points 1 + 2 are activated in the reev Platform. The license for these two charging points is valid for 24 months until 06.12.2021.

  • On 04.05.2020, charging points 3 + 4 are onboarded in the reev Platform. The license for these two charging points is valid for 24 months until 03.05.2022.

  • The first license renewal for charging points 1 + 2 occurs on 07.12.2021 for 12 months. The billing cycle for these charging points runs from 07.12.2021 to 06.12.2022. Any charging points with licenses expiring during this period will also be extended to the same end date, prorated. Since the license for charging points 3 + 4 expires on 03.05.2022, it falls within this period and will be prorated for the period from 04.05.2022 to 06.12.2022. This period is seven months and three days. reev only charges for full months, so the three extra days are granted to the infrastructure operator free of charge.

  • With the first license renewal from 07.12.2021 to 06.12.2022, charging points 1 + 2 are billed for 12 months, and charging points 3 + 4 are billed for 7 months.

  • With the second license renewal from 07.12.2022 to 06.12.2023, all four charging points are billed for 12 months. This ensures that all licenses are eventually aligned to the same billing cycles.
