This article explains what the activation code is used for, its role during commissioning with the reev Companion, and where to find it in the reev product materials.

Note: The activation code is a convenience feature that simplifies the commissioning process but is not mandatory for integrating a charging station into the reev Platform. The activation code must not be confused with the license key.

Purpose of the Activation Code

The activation code uniquely identifies a charging station and enables faster and easier commissioning of the charging infrastructure. It is included with both reev Pre‑Configured and reev Connect products.

Activation Code

Used for the technical identification and commissioning of a charging station.

License Key

Required for each individual charging point that is managed via the reev Dashboard. Without a valid license key, the charging point cannot be operated on the reev Platform.

Using the Activation Code in the reev Companion

The activation code is used during commissioning in the reev Companion (formerly eWizard).

Process:

  1. Assigning in the reev Companion
The activation code can be assigned to a specific charging station.

  2. Adding in the reev Dashboard
After assignment, the charging station can be added directly to the dashboard using the activation code.

  3. Alternative Without Activation Code
If no activation code is assigned, the charging station can alternatively be added to the dashboard using its serial number.
