This article explains how to check the connectivity of an ABL charging station using the RSSI value. It also describes measures you can take to improve connectivity.
Meaning of the RSSI value
To draw conclusions about the connectivity of the charging station, the RSSI value must be determined. As a general rule: the higher the RSSI value, the better the reception and thus the more stable the connection between the charging station and the reev backend.
An RSSI value below 20 indicates poor signal strength and may lead to connection interruptions.
To improve the RSSI value, the following measures can be taken:
Check the network coverage
Ensure that an antenna has been installed
Verify the location of the charging station
Alternatively, a LAN connection can be considered.
Determining the RSSI value
Open the ABL web interface. You can find instructions here: ABL - Accessing the SBC Web User Interface.
Navigate to “Maintenance” → “Diagnosis”
Then go to “Network Device.”
For any hardware-related issues, kindly reach out to ABL Support for assistance
The best way to reach ABL Support is via the ABL homepage, where you can directly create a support ticket with the relevant information: https://www.ablmobility.de/de/service/support/
