Offering public charging | Smart tariffs

By making your charging infrastructure available for public charging via external eMobility Service Providers (EMPs), you can operate your charging stations in a more cost-efficient and economically sustainable way.

Within the reev platform, you have several options to define pricing for eRoaming users.

🧠 Option 1: reev Smart Prices (recommended)

reev Smart Prices provide an automated solution for your eRoaming pricing. This option is enabled by default when you create an eRoaming user group.

What does that mean in practice?

  • reev sets the prices for you – based on market analysis, location data, and experience-based adjustments.

  • Pricing (kWh and parking fees) is regularly updated.

  • Country-specific conditions (e.g. national pricing levels) are automatically taken into account.

  • Ideal if you want to enable eRoaming quickly and without additional administrative effort.

✍️ Option 2: Set Your Own Prices

If you prefer full control over pricing, you can alternatively define your own AC and/or DC tariffs.

How it works:

  • You set a fixed net price per kWh.

  • Optionally, you can define parking fees per minute and a maximum parking fee.

  • Only one price level each for AC and DC is possible at this stage (time-based or differentiated pricing structures are currently not supported).

⚠️ Note: If you choose to define your own prices, fewer roaming drivers may have access to your charging stations, as not all EMPs support individual pricing models.

📊 Overview of Pricing Components

1. Energy Price

  • €/kWh: The amount you receive per kilowatt hour charged (net value).

2. Parking Fee

  • €/minute: Amount received for each minute the vehicle remains connected after charging begins.

  • Grace period: Time period with no parking fees immediately after charging starts.

  • Maximum parking fee: Cap for total parking fees – this limit will not be exceeded, even if the vehicle remains connected longer.

👥 Customer Prices vs. Driver Prices

The prices you define determine the amount you receive as a CPO for each roaming transaction.

Please note:

  • These prices do not reflect what the driver ultimately pays.

  • The final driver price is determined by their eMobility Service Provider (EMP).

  • reev has no insight into these final driver prices or their application timelines.

⚠️ Important Information: Availability & Reach

  • reev Smart Prices: Supported by Gireve and Hubject, offering the widest reach among EMPs.

  • Custom pricing: Only available with Gireve. Reach is more limited, as not all eMSPs accept custom tariffs from CPOs.

💡 Tip: If you choose to define your own prices, be aware that fewer roaming drivers may be able to access your charging points.
