This guide explains how to integrate an eM4 charging station into the reev backend. We do not cover creating a charging network or configuring the current limit here; please refer to the installation instructions for that.

The configuration is carried out using the ABL Configuration App.

Connect to the wallbox and configure

  • Once the wallbox is installed and switched on, the configuration can be performed using the ABL Configuration App.

  • Open the app and select "Perform new configuration." Then follow the wizard until the type plate needs to be scanned.

  • After scanning the type plate, the app will search for the charging station's Wi-Fi hotspot.

  • For this, the app must be granted permissions and Wi-Fi must be enabled.

  • Then follow the wizard in the app to the network settings and make the necessary configurations.

  • In the network settings, select the appropriate connection type for the backend.

    • LTE for connecting with a SIM card

    • LAN for connecting via a local network

  • You will then be asked whether a charging network consisting of a controller and extender wallboxes should be created and whether an external meter needs to be configured. Please select the option that applies to your setup. In our example, no charging network is created and no ABL energy meter is configured. Further information on both topics can be found in the installation manual.

  • Follow the assistant in the app until you reach the backend integration step. There, click on “Use template” and select reev LTE.

  • Finally, the configuration is carried out and the charging station restarts.
This process may take up to 10 minutes. Please follow the instructions displayed in the app.

Select load shedding in the technical configuration only if it is truly necessary! Please consult your qualified electrician for this. If configured incorrectly, charging will not work and load shedding will need to be deactivated afterwards. (You can click on the image below to enlarge it.)
