Alpitronic Firmware 3.1.x – Configuring the reev Software

This article describes how to integrate the reev software into an Alpitronic charging station with firmware 3.1.x and which settings to make in the charging station's user interface.

Important for handover: This article covers the start of the configuration. To hand over the installation to the customer completely, commissioning must then be completed via the reev Companion.

Supported models

The following Alpitronic HyperCharger models are supported:

  • HyperCharger HYC50

  • HyperCharger HYC150

  • HyperCharger HYC300

  • HyperCharger HYC400

These instructions are specific to firmware version 3.1.x or higher. For charging stations with older firmware, see this guide.

Prerequisites

Required materials

  • Laptop with RJ45 data cable to connect to the charging station's control unit

  • Active internet connection via Ethernet or Wi-Fi

Note: Make sure the charging station runs the latest firmware version from Alpitronic before you start the configuration. You can find out which version is current directly from the manufacturer.

Configuring the Alpitronic user interface

Connecting to the charging station

To connect to the charging station and access the user interface:

  1. Insert the SIM card into the Client SIM slot of the charging station.

  2. Connect the laptop to the charging station with an RJ45 data cable.

  3. Open the web interface in your browser using the default IP address 192.168.1.100.

  4. Log in with the supplied credentials:

    • Username: admin

    • Password: admin123

Note: If the password "admin123" does not work, the default password is the MAC address of the charging station.

Note: Make sure you use the Client SIM slot, not the Server SIM slot.

After a successful connection, you are on the charging station's user interface.

Step 1 – Check the firmware version

Before making any configuration changes, check the installed firmware version of the charging station.

  1. Navigate to Software Versions.

  2. Check whether the latest firmware version is installed. You can find out which version is current directly from the manufacturer.

  3. If the firmware is up to date, continue with Step 2.

  4. If the firmware is not up to date, perform the update before continuing.

Step 2 – OCPP configuration

To configure the OCPP connection:

  1. Navigate to Parameters.

  2. The following parameters should be changed:

Field

Value

chargePointIdentity

Individual name of the charging station (no special characters except "_")

ActiveOcppVersion

ocpp1.6

WebSocketUrl

wss://ocpp.reev.com

Use the search bar to quickly find specific parameters. Please click the floppy disk icon to save after each change.

Example: The chargePointIdentity can be assigned as follows:

  • HYC_150_22BZ0660A

  • 22BZ0660A

  • Alpitronic_22BZ0660A

Step 3 – Network configuration

3.1 Ethernet configuration

To configure the Ethernet connection:

  1. Navigate to Network.

  2. Select Wired as the Preferred Network.

  3. Enter the Static IP Address, the Subnetmask and the Default Gateway.

  4. Delete the entries for Primary DNS and Secondary DNS – but only if the reev SIM card is used for the connection.

  5. Click Save .

Note: Ask the on-site IT administrator for the correct IP address settings. We recommend assigning static IP addresses so that local access to the web interface is ensured even during a network outage.

3.2 SIM configuration

To configure the APN settings:

  1. Navigate to Network Settings -> SIM.

  2. Enter the following values:

Field

Value

SIM PIN

Not required (can optionally be entered)

APN

emonvia

Authentication

NO APN Authentication Required (deactivate)

Provider Selection

Automatic Selection (activate if not already active)

Click the floppy disk icon to save.

3.3 Preferred network

To set the preferred network:

  1. Navigate to Network.

  2. Under Preferred Network, select Mobile or Wired, depending on the connection.

Step 4 – Perform a system reboot

To restart the charging station after configuration:

  1. Click Hard Reset in the upper right corner to restart the charging station.

Note: The restart of the charging station takes approx. 10 minutes. Afterwards, the SIM card searches for a mobile network and connects to it. This process can also take up to 10 minutes.

To check whether the SIM card has connected successfully:

  1. Navigate to Status -> SIM.

  2. Check whether an active mobile connection is displayed.

Commissioning with the reev Companion

Once the charging station has been configured successfully, it can be commissioned via the reev Companion.

Frequently asked questions

Which firmware version must be installed on the charging station? The charging station must run the latest firmware version from Alpitronic. You can find out which version is current directly from the manufacturer.

What if the default password "admin123" does not work? In this case, the default password is the MAC address of the charging station. It is usually on the type plate of the station.

Which SIM slot must I use? Use only the Client SIM slot. The Server SIM slot is not intended for this configuration.

Why should I assign static IP addresses? Static IP addresses ensure that local access to the web interface is retained even during a network outage. Ask the on-site IT administrator for the correct settings.

How long does the system reset take? The restart of the charging station takes approx. 10 minutes. The subsequent connection of the SIM card to the mobile network can take up to a further 10 minutes.
