This guide describes how to check and adjust the current limit on ABL eMH2 and ABL eMH3 charging stations via the SBC web interface.
Note: This guide applies exclusively to the ABL eMH2 and ABL eMH3 product range. For the ABL eM4 product range, configuration is carried out via the ABL Configuration App — a separate application for mobile devices. Please refer to the corresponding installation guide for further information.
Prerequisites
The following prerequisites must be met before you begin the configuration:
Access to the SBC web interface of the charging station has been set up.
The charging station is operational and reachable via the network.
Note: Current limit settings must only be configured by a qualified electrician. Coordinate the values with the responsible electrician before making any adjustments.
Adjusting the Current Limit
Step 1: Open the Web Interface
First, open the SBC web interface of the charging station. A step-by-step guide is available here: ABL – Accessing the SBC Web Administration Interface.
Step 2: Check the Current Limit
Navigate to the following menu item to view the currently configured current limit: Overview -> Monitoring
Step 3: Adjust the Current Limit
The following steps are required to adjust the current limit:
Navigate to Products -> Installation.
Switch the role to Installer to unlock the configuration options.
After switching the role, open the charging station configuration under Actions.
Adjust the current limit value as required and save the change.
Switch to the Operation -> Load Management tab and enter the same value in the Maximum Current field under the Basic Settings section that you set in Step 4.
Navigate back to Products -> Installation and create a new configuration. Confirm it afterwards.
The charging station restarts automatically. The new settings take effect after the restart.
Tip: The value in the Maximum Current field under Operation* -> *Load Management must be identical to the value entered in Step 4. Mismatched values can lead to inconsistent charging behaviour.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
Web interface not reachable | Network connection interrupted | Check the network connection and the IP address of the charging station |
Current limit is not applied | Value in Load Management not updated | Check and align the value under Operation* -> *Load Management -> Maximum Current |
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this guide also apply to the ABL eM4 product range?
No. The ABL eM4 product range is configured via the ABL Configuration App. This guide applies exclusively to ABL eMH2 and ABL eMH3 charging stations.
Why does the value need to be entered in two places?
The current limit is set separately in the device configuration and in Load Management. Both values must match for the charging station to operate consistently and correctly.
Does the charging station need to restart after configuration?
Yes. After confirming the new configuration, the charging station restarts automatically. The settings only take effect after the restart.
Who is authorised to adjust the current limit?
Adjustments must only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
What happens if the current limit is set too high?
A current limit that is set too high can overload the existing electrical installation. Always coordinate the value with the responsible electrician beforehand.
