Here you can learn how to integrate the reev software into a MENNEKES charging station.

The integration can be done independently in a few simple steps.

Compatible models: AMTRON professional, AMEDIO professional, AMTRON professional twincharge

What is necessary in advance so that the integration can take place

  • reev operator set
    The operator / CPO (CPO = Charge Point Operator) or contracted service provider must have received the operator set. Here, you will find the necessary onboarding materials, such as QR code sticker, SIM card and activation code

  • Laptop
    You will need a laptop to connect to the controller charging infrastructure via a RJ45 data cable

  • An active internet connection via Ethernet or WiFi to connect to the reev backend.

Make sure that:

  • the ECU has been updated to the latest software version before the integration. The link to the latest software version and information about the update of the ECU from MENNEKES can be found at the following link:
    https://www.mennekes.org/emobility/services/downloads/software-updates/

  • the charging station have already been configured to communicate with each other via the assigned IP adresses. This depends on the technical setup on site, e.g. use of a swith (unmanaged, managed). Local load management, WiFi, etc., and therefore cannot be taken over by reev.

Step-by-step Integration

In the following chapters, the integration process is demonstrated step-by-step. If you have all the necessary utensils from the previous chapter at hand, you can carry out the integration in parallel.

1. Insert the micro SIM card and make sure to attach the sticker

so that you can easily remove the SIM card again if necessary, as the slot does not have a spring mechanism. The circuit board must face to the right when inserting the mirco SIM.

2. Connectivity of the ECU

Ethernet/ LAN

  • connect your laptop to the Bender Controller via the "Digitus Adapter"

ATTENTION

The direct connection does not work without the "Digitus USB Network Adapter", which is supplied as an accessory with the MENNEKES Amtron.

Micro USB

  • Connect your laptop to the Bender Controller via the supplied micro USB cable and open the following IP address http://192.168.123.123 via which the web interface can be reached.

3. Open the network settings of the LAN-ports of your laptop

Set the following:

  • IP-Version: IPv4

  • IP Adresse: 192.168.124.21

  • Subnetzmaske: 255.255.255.0

  • Standartgateway: 192.168.124.1

Via the network (switch)

As soon as the charging infrastructure is integrated in a network via Ethernet, the web interface can be accessed via a consumer device that is located in the same network.

4. MENNEKES login page

  • Use the following IP address (default) to access the controller: http://192.168.124.123/operator

  • Enter your user name and password on the MENNEKES login page

ATTENTION

The login data is supplied on a DIN A4 sheet with the MENNEKES Amtron.

Set the network for the LTE connection as follows:

If the connection to the reev backend via LAN is intended, you can skip this point.

  • Click on the menu item "Network"

  • Show modem settings -> Show

  • Access Point Name (APN) -> emonvia (required to establish the backend connection)

  • APN user name -> emonviaCS (required to establish the back-end connection)

  • APN password -> not required to establish the backend connection

ATTENTION

The WAN router setting must be switched on if the charging group is connected to a switch (unmanaged).

Set the network for the LAN connection as follows:

  • modbus ethernet-configuration

  • Select the option "static" if the charging station is to be assigned a fixed IP address in a local network and enter this and the remaining details accordingly.

ATTENTION

If integration into a local network is planned, all APN details must be deleted.

  • Select the option "DHCP server" if the IP address is to be assigned automatically.

5. Set the backend for the integration as follows:

  • Click on "Backend" at the sidebar

  • Connection type -> GSM

  • ChargePointID" -> MENNEKES_XXXXXXX_XXXXX

ATTENTION

Remove the dot "." in the serial number and replace it with a "_"(underscore). Otherwise the backend will only read the product number, which is the number before the dot.

  • OCPP Mode -> OCPP-J-1.6

  • WebSockets JSON OCPP URL of the backend -> wss://ocpp.reev.com/api/ocpp/web-socket

  • Send informative StatusNotifications -> On

  • Send StatusNotifications for errors -> On

  • Strategy for StatusNotification state transitions -> Assigned while loading

  • Allow long retrieval of configuration keys -> On

  • Prohibit loading when queue full -> Off

  • Send signed meter values -> On

  • Format of signed meter values -> Full SML

  • Send the public key of the meter to the backend -> On

Click on "Save" to save the settings and continue

6. Set the authorisation as follows:

  • Free charging-> Off

  • Allow charging in case of doubt -> Off

  • Stop transaction mode -> Unlock only with RFID/RemoteStop

  • Close actuator only with authorisation -> On

  • RFID tag upper/lower case -> Lower case

  • Enable local whitelist -> Off

  • Local whitelist learning mode -> Off

  • OCPP whitelist learning mode -> Off

  • Local Pre Authorize -> Off

  • Local Authorize Offline -> On

Click on "Save" to save the settings and continue

7. Load management (local)

  • Operator current limit [A]: Adjust the amperage according to the physically protected value of the RCD or reduce it if desired.
    This setting must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

  • Operator current limit [A] (Connector 2): Adjust or reduce the amperage according to the physically protected value of the RCD if desired.
    This setting must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Click on "Save" to save the settings and continue

8. System

  • Logging level -> LOG_LEVEL_DEBUG

Click on "Save" to save the settings and continue

Click on "Restart" to save the settings and restart the charging station

INFO

After the charging station has restarted, log in again as in point 5. Check that the connection to the reev backend is established by going to the Dashboard menu item and checking the following:

When the charging station has successfully connected to the reev backend, the charging station receives so-called "heartbeats" (HB) to check the online status in a continuous cycle of 300 seconds.

ATTENTION

If the charging station does not connect, please check the above points and adjust them if necessary.
