Connectors offline

This article provides tips if your connectors appear as offline in your reev platform.

General Information about "Offline" Status

  • In Monitoring, sub-menu Charging Infrastructure you can view the status of your charging infrastructure. If the status indicators of the connectors within a charging group are marked with a black bar, it means that the connectors - or the entire charging group - are offline.

The offline status means that the charging station is currently not connected to the internet and therefore has no connection to the reev backend. The internet connection is typically established via a local LAN/Wi-Fi network or through a SIM card installed in the controller charging station using an LTE stick.
Good to know: reev SIM cards are multi-SIM cards, meaning they automatically connect to the mobile network with the strongest signal available at the location.

Possible Causes and Troubleshooting

Below is a list of possible reasons for an offline status, along with corresponding solutions. A manual restart of the controller charging station resolves most cases (see point 4).

  • Charging Station Has No Power

Ensure that the charging station is connected to a functioning power source and that the circuit breakers (FI switches) are turned on.

  • LTE Stick Is Not Properly Inserted

Ensure that the LTE stick, installed inside the controller charging station housing, is properly inserted. If the LTE stick is from the manufacturer Huawei, please check if the LED indicator is blinking green. If the LTE stick is from Alcatel, please refer to the following status indicators:

  • Local internet connection at the site has failed

If the affected charging station is connected via LAN or Wi-Fi, the local internet connection may have gone down. Please check your local network.

  • SIM Card Has Temporarily Lost Connection to the Mobile Network

Sometimes, the SIM card may lose connection to the mobile network. In this case, the controller charging station must be physically restarted to allow the SIM card to reconnect.

Instructions for physically restarting the following ABL controller charging stations can be found here:

  • After the restart, wait up to 30 minutes and then check your reev platform to see if the affected charging points are back online.
If this issue occurs frequently, it may indicate that the mobile signal at your location is too weak. In that case, please contact our support team to assess the signal strength and receive further assistance.
