This article explains which installation types are available in the reev Companion and how to select the right type for your installation project.
Prerequisites
Before you start the installation, make sure the following conditions are met:
You have confirmed the use case with your customer or the responsible reev partner.
You know for whom and at which location the charging station is being installed.
Note: The installation type cannot be changed after the installation is complete. Make sure you have confirmed the correct use case with your customer or reev partner before you start.
Available Installation Types
During the installation process in the reev Companion, you will be prompted to select an installation type. Based on your selection, the app will guide you through the appropriate installation steps and complete the correct handover.
The following installation types are available:
Companies and Institutions
This installation type is intended for charging installations at companies, institutions, or at the private residence of company car drivers or private individuals. The company retains control over the installation and determines how drivers can charge.
Choose this type if your customer is a business — for example, a company setting up charging for employees or a fleet, or an employee charging their company car at home.
reev Living
This installation type is intended for charging installations in multi-tenant residential buildings. Tenants register themselves in the system; reev handles setup and billing.
Choose this type if your customer is a property management company or residents' association looking to set up charging in a shared residential building.

Can I change the installation type after the installation is complete?
No. The installation type is fixed once the installation is complete and cannot be changed independently.
What happens if I select the wrong installation type?
The app will guide you through an incorrect installation process, which may result in a faulty configuration. Always clarify the use case before starting the installation.
Is reev Living available outside of Germany?
No. reev Living is currently only available in Germany.
Do I need any special materials for reev Living?
Yes. The purchase of a specific reev Living sign is required. Clarify this with your reev partner before the installation.
