This article explains how to set up the internet connection of a Teltonika router using a reev SIM card.

Prerequisites

  • Teltonika router (e.g. RUT240, RUT241, RUT300, or RUT956)

  • reev SIM card

  • Computer with LAN connection

  • Latest version of a web browser

Note: This guide only covers the setup of the internet connection. For local network configuration or IP address assignment, please contact your IT administrator.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Access the Web Interface

  1. Connect your computer to the router using a LAN cable.

  2. Open your browser and enter the default IP address 192.168.1.1.

  3. Log in using the default credentials (printed on the router or included in the documentation).

  4. Change the password upon first login – you will be prompted automatically.

Note: If you cannot access the web interface, check your computer’s network adapter IP settings. For further assistance, contact Teltonika Support or consult the Teltonika Knowledge Base.

2. Update the Firmware

Before configuring the router, update its firmware:

  1. Go to System → Firmware → Update Firmware.

  2. Download the latest firmware from the Teltonika website.

  3. Perform the update according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Tip: Keeping the firmware up to date ensures stable operation and closes potential security vulnerabilities.

3. Configure the Router

Set Mobile WAN as the Main Connection

  1. Navigate to Network → WAN.

  2. Move the Mobile Interface to the top of the list.

  3. Disable any unused WAN interfaces.

  4. Save and apply the settings.

Tip: You can configure additional WAN interfaces as Failover connections to ensure internet redundancy. Please contact your IT administrator for this setup.

Enter APN Settings

  1. Under Network → WAN, open the Mobile Interface.

  2. Enter the following APN details:

    • APN:emonvia

    • Username and password: leave blank

  3. Save and apply the settings.

Disable DNS Rebind Protection

  1. Go to Network → DNS.

  2. Disable the DNS Rebind Protection option.

  3. Save the changes.

Disable Failover for Mobile WAN

  1. Open Network → Failover.

  2. Turn off the Failover function (set the toggle to Off).

Note: The default IPs (1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8) cannot be reached via the reev SIM card. If the Failover function remains active, the WAN connection will incorrectly appear as “Offline”.

4. Verify the Connection

  1. Go to Status → Network → Mobile.

  2. Check if an active internet connection is established.

If the status shows Connected, the setup is complete.
