The reev Companion provides electricians with comprehensive tools for monitoring, fault analysis, and remote maintenance of charging infrastructure. This article describes the service functions in detail.

The reev Companion can be accessed via the following link: https://config.reev.com/start

Benefits

  • Fast fault assessment: Error codes, categories, and severity are immediately visible.

  • Targeted preparation: All technical data is available before a service visit.

  • Structured troubleshooting: Smart Guidance provides clear, step‑by‑step resolution instructions.

  • Direct remote actions: Charging points can be restarted or refreshed remotely.

Main Features

1. Fault Notifications

Electricians are notified by email when:

  • a defined error code is active,

  • automatic recovery through Smart Recovery was unsuccessful,

  • the issue has persisted for more than 10 hours.

If multiple charging stations within the same installation experience faults, they are grouped into a single notification email. This allows electricians to respond efficiently without the need for continuous manual monitoring.

2. Smart Guidance

For selected manufacturers (e.g. ABL, Alfen, Hager, Mennekes, Schneider Electric, Keba), structured troubleshooting guides are available to help resolve issues efficiently.

Smart Guidance includes:

  • Fault category (hardware, software, connectivity)

  • Short description of the issue

  • Recommended solution

  • Step‑by‑step instructions

These guides are based on common fault scenarios and manufacturer‑specific information.

3. Remote Actions

Electricians can perform the following actions directly in the reev Companion:

  • Refresh status

  • Restart charging station

After execution, the updated station status is displayed, allowing electricians to immediately verify whether the issue has been resolved.

Note: Remote functions are only available for stations connected to the reev backend.
