How to integrate the reev software into a Mennekes charging station

You will learn here how to integrate the reev software into a Mennekes charging station.

The integration can be performed independently in just a few simple steps.

Supported models: 4You, 4Business

What is required for the integration to take place?

  • reev Operator Set has arrived at the operator / CPO (CPO = Charge Point Operator) or the commissioned service provider. This includes the necessary onboarding materials such as QR code stickers, SIM card, and activation code.

  • Laptop: You will need a laptop to connect to the control unit of the charging infrastructure via an RJ45 data cable.

  • An active internet connection via Ethernet, SIM card, or WiFi to establish the connection to the reev backend.

Step-by-step integration

In the following chapters, the integration process is demonstrated step by step. If you have all the necessary materials from the previous section at hand, you can carry out the integration in parallel.

Note: The 4You and 4Business models are compatible from firmware version 1.2.14 onwards. If your station does not meet this requirement, please perform a firmware update. More information can be found on the Mennekes software updates page.

1. Connect the laptop to the charging station

The connection can be established in two ways: via the AMTRON 4Installers App or via the web interface.
Requirement: The charging station and the device must be on the same network.

Connection via AMTRON 4Installers App

Download the app:

  • Google Play Store

  • Apple Store

Open the app, perform a scan, and select your charging station.

Connection via web interface

Open an internet browser. Access the web interface via http://<IP-address>.

IP addresses depending on the connection type:

  • Access Point: 192.168.170.10

  • Ethernet direct connection: 192.168.150.10

  • Local network: IP is assigned dynamically – can be determined via the router or a network scan.

For a connection via Access Point, the web interface would be available at: http://192.168.170.10

2. Network settings

Open the "Network" page, then go to the "Cellular" section.

Here, you can adjust the SIM card settings.

When using a reev SIM card, enter “emonvia” in the APN field.

If a local network is used:

Open the "Local Network" page and adjust the relevant settings there.

3. Backend Settings

Open the Backend page.

Here you configure the connection to the reev backend:

  • Interface for backend communication: Select the appropriate network connection.

  • Backend URL: Enter the following endpoint: wss://ocpp.reev.com

Save the settings.

4. Success!

The charging station is now successfully connected to the reev backend.
